How to play Halve It
Hit the target — or watch half your score vanish.
Rules
A fixed sequence of targets — DartsKeeper plays 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, then the bull (many variants exist). Three darts per round, and only hits on the current target score: singles face value, doubles and trebles multiply as usual.
Miss the target with all three darts and your running total is halved (rounded up in our scoring). Highest total after the bull round wins.
Why it trains nerve
Halve It punishes exactly one thing: the safe-feeling round where nothing lands. A 100-point lead can evaporate in one bad visit, so every third dart under pressure is a small checkout rehearsal. It is the closest a scoring drill gets to match nerves.
Tips
- First dart at the fat single — insurance first, trebles second.
- Never chase a treble with your last dart while on zero hits for the round.
- Big totals raise the stakes: the more you have, the more a halving costs.

FAQ
What happens when you miss in Halve It?
Only a fully blank round is punished: if none of your three darts hit the current target, your total score is halved. One scoring dart keeps your total safe.
What targets are used in Halve It?
House rules vary — common sequences run 15 through 20 and finish on the bull (DartsKeeper’s order), others mix in doubles, trebles or specific colours.
